3rd TRPNEP Seminar was successfully held

The 3rd TRPNEP 2021 Seminar entitled “3rd ASEAN – Japan Meeting Point of Collaboration by Stakeholders and Researchers for Reducing Environmental Problems in ASEAN Countries” was successfully held as an online seminar on December 11-12, 2021.
Further collaborations were highly expected as this seminar was attended by more than 100 participants including representatives from academic and non-academic organizations from Japan and ASEAN countries. The participated senior and junior researchers from academic institutions from ASEAN countries and Japan including Universiti Brunei Darussalam (Brunei Darussalam), Institute of Technology of Cambodia (Cambodia), University of Health Sciences (Cambodia), Institute of Technology Bandung (Indonesia), Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia), Ehime University (Japan), Kagawa University (Japan), Kochi University (Japan), Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) (Japan), University Malaya (Malaysia), Assumption University (Thailand), Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Rajamangala University of Technology, Srivijaya (Thailand), and VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University (Vietnam), and the representatives from the private companies including Matsutani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Melody International Co. Ltd., Naiba Co., Ltd., Kochi Marutaka Co., Ltd., and Civil Engineering Research Institute for Cold Region, Public Works Research Institute attended the seminar.
The participants presented and discussed the research and technological innovations for solving and reducing environmental and health problems as their common goals in this seminar.
This two-day online seminar was organized by TRPNEP Steering Committee members from three Japanese universities: 1) Ehime University, 2) Kagawa University, and 3) Kochi University of Japan in collaboration with 4) Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN). It is also sponsored by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
The purposes of this seminar were 1) to make more informative and worthwhile about the understanding of environmental and health issues in ASEAN countries, 2) to share, discuss, exhibit, and exchange your experience expertise, and innovation, and the outcomes of transdisciplinary research and practice, and 3) to engage for future collaborations between/among scientists and researchers, and other non-academic stakeholders from the private and public organizations for the reduction of environmental and health problems in Southeast Asia.

Therefore, you are welcome to share, discuss, exhibit, and exchange your experience and expertise, innovation and outcomes of transdisciplinary research and practice on the following topics: 1) Prevention and Reduction of Natural Disasters, 2) Improvement on Urban Environmental Problems, 3) Environmental Preservation and Sustainable Development and 4) National Security for Food and Health.
